After a flurry of mid-week European games (and Aguero hitting the post... sorry, it's all I've got), 33 of us are back in the game for round two. Will Crystal Palace manage to halt their shocking start to the season and get a win, or at least a draw....? 20 of you are praying they don't, as you've all gone for Man Utd. Arsenal are the second most popular pick with 9 and the final 4 go for Tottenham. Everybody got their predictions in on time (although 5.50pm was was cutting it a bit fine). So no one's ended up with this weeks backup team, Crystal Palace..... but their time will come!! I'll be back on Sunday night with the results, after that we'll have a week off for some World Cup Qualifiers. Good luck and have a great weekend. The above picture is from mine and Michelle's seats at the Emirates this evening. Michelle's first Premiership game. I spent a lot of time translating the chants. 'Standup if you hate.....' etc etc We gained two extra players after hours on Friday (that’s the last time that's happening) so the pot increases to £685 with 36 players. Three players drop out this weekend though. Chris, Tremaine and our previous finalist Tim, all falling at the first. Tim, by his own admission was, ‘trying to be clever’, which he has been warned about before.... quite regularly. This leaves us 33 players to carry on to fame and glory. Click HERE to make your next prediction and if you can’t remember who you’ve just had...... look below, it's right there! All picks in by Friday at 6pm please, or you’ll get Crystal Palace. NO EXCEPTIONS! Evening all, here we go again. With the last game bridging the summer break, this is, for some of you, a return to playing for the first time since May. So welcome back and good luck. With 36 players (and Tim and Andy getting their free entry), we've added £170 to the previous pot of £515, to give us a MEGA-POT of £685. (#biggestpotever) Man City are the favourite pick this week, with 18 of you going for them. 6 of us are going for Arsenal and there's a smattering of others, all of which can be seen below. I'll be back with all the results on Monday night. It'll be a late one though, as me and Michelle will be at the Emirates for the Arsenal v WBA game ..... Please wave if you're one of the many Gooners here also making the trip to North London. We're in the clock End, upper Tier..... I'll be wearing red. Any joker that says they should just shout 'Hi' because it's so quiet at Emirates will be...... well, I'll leave that to the Arsenal fans to decide. Note 1 - I'm not a Gooner. Note 2 - This'll be Michelle's first football match. Have a good weekend. There were two in the bed and the little one said ..... ROLLOVER!!!!!! ©Jeanette. Well well well, no one expected that. I'm sure both boys had already planned next weeks predictions. Sadly for them, Tottenham had 26 shots, 8 on target and 75% of the possession but still couldn't put one past Swansea, who didn't have a single shot on target for the third time this season. This will be no concilation to Tim and Andy, who'll have to console themselves with free entry into the next round. Don't forget though, you're welcome to give words of thanks, or condolence, to either of them in the comments section .... I'm sure they'll gratefully receive any 'banter' you'd like to send their way....... or maybe not. All this means that we head into a record breaking 4th rollover, with a pot somewhere north of £700 and some of you back in the game for the first time since May and the 2016/17 season. So here we go again, time to get me those fivers. I'll send emails to those in credit and the bank details to the rest of you. Then it's time to click HERE and make those all important first predictions. P.S - Great to put some faces to names at the party last night. Although Andy wasn't really in the full party spirit when I turned up ..... can't think why? P.P.S - Congratulations from all us to Rob F and his family on the arrival of his 2nd daughter!! I may not be any good at predicting winning teams but I can sure pick a soon to be fired manager, see ya later Frank.. and welcome back Roy, what could possibly go wrong? Our remaining 2 players, Tim and Andy, or the Brothers Grimm as I will refer to them.... until they catch up with me, have both gone for Tottenham this week. Giving the rest of us hope that, win or lose, there's still a chance that we'll get another rollover and all have a chance at the 'THE MEGA-POT', as I am going to start calling it. Good luck boys, Tottenham v Swansea is on Saturday at 5.30, so we'll know where we stand before we all go out on Saturday night!! Have a great weekend. |
