Well that was a strange set of results. No one in Manchester is happy but the 33 of us who went for Arsenal are sitting pretty.
14 players drop out this week, mostly due to Man Utd's draw at home to Burnley, which someone in the Man Utd boardroom will take as a reason for not giving Ole the top job he seems to deserve. That leaves 38 of us to go through to this weekends games, which means you have less than 48 hours to get your next predictions in HERE. So don't delay, save yourself a Friday afternoon panic and the chance of getting Huddersfield and predict now.... straight away...... go on..... click it!!! Well that was an exciting set of FA Cup games..... unless you support a North London team.... then it was pants and you're glad I'm back to take your mind off things.
Sadly, 1 player didn't get round to predicting in time and therefore gets Huddersfield this week. Sorry about that, but numerous emails, the increased number of players and the fact that I have a day job (honestly), means that I can't spend to much time chasing any more. Over half of the remaining 52 players have gone for Arsenal this week (33), despite their lose against Man Utd. 6 Players have gone it alone, so they all have a chance of winning the pot if Arsenal, Man Utd (9), Everton (4) and a distinctly random set of other results all come to pass. Have a good midweek, I'll be back on Wednesday night with the results. Good Luck FUN FACT KLAXON ALERT WARNING NOTIFICATION - Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 23 home Premier League fixtures against promoted sides, since a 0-1 loss to Newcastle United in November 2010. Evening
Spurs may not need Harry Kane to win but they do need extra time..... Ooohhhhhhh that was a close one. Amazingly, after that last game, only the 5 of you that went for Watford have your weekend ruined, leaving 52 players to go through to the next set of games. This coming week we have the second leg of the EFL Cup semi finals and then next weekend the 4th round FA cup games, so the next Premier league games aren't until Tues/Wed the following week (Jan 29th/30th) but don't let that stop you making your prediction now if you want. HERE After a question (challenge) from Andy L a few weeks back, I've managed to work out a way to only offer each of you the choice of your remaining teams when you come to make your prediction. It means the page looks a little different than before but I'm sure you're all clever enough to work it out but please shout if you come across any problems. This is the first in a number of changes I'm going to be making, to try and reduce the admin I have to do, now that the number of players has increased. This will also include the prediction page being automatically switched off at 6pm on Fridays and me not chasing people with reminders throughout Friday if they've not predicted, as I have been doing up until now. Have a good week, I'll be back next weekend with the standard reminders. The next games predictions must be in by Monday 28th Jan' at 6PM, with the last reminder going out Monday morning. Evening everyone.
What with all the Brexit malarkey going on, this one little game that we play is hopefully making things better? Except if you've been knocked out.... then surely all hope is lost! We head into week 2 of this pool with 57 players, 24 of whom have gone for Man Utd. Liverpool (13) and Man City (8) are the next on the list and even Newcastle (2) manage to get a look in.... but they are playing Cardiff. See below for all this weekends picks. I'll be back on Sunday night after the Fulham v Spurs game with all the results. Have a good weekend. STUPID FACT KLAXON ALERT (Flaxonert?)- Surprisingly, Paul Pogba can this weekend become only the second Manchester United player to score at least twice in three consecutive PL home matches, after Cristiano Ronaldo..... Who knew? Who cares? Evening all.
All the results can be seen below. We had 71 players going into the weekend but after a draw and 3 reasonably surprising loses, we're down to 57 for next weeks games. To those off you new to the game, sorry you got knocked out but don't be downhearted, you can cross your fingers that this one goes to a rollover, meaning the winners pot will get even bigger..... Saying that though, I've played this game for 5 years and never won it myself, but maybe I'm just rubbish at it. If you made it through, click HERE to make your next prediction. I'll start posting your previous choices next week, in the meantime, just look below for who you've already had and can't pick again. Have a good week, I'm sure I'll be back later in the week with reminders! |
